AKA Carter Dickson, Carr Dickson and Roger Fairbairn. John Dickson Carr was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, in 1906. It Walks by Night, his first published detective novel, featuring the Frenchman Henri Bencolin, was published in 1930.
